Dosing Schedule

Mounjaro is taken as a once weekly subcutaneous injection. The dose is increased gradually:
2.5 mg weekly for 4 weeks (starting dose)
5 mg weekly for 4 weeks
7.5 mg, 10 mg, 12.5 mg, up to 15 mg weekly (maintenance dose depending on response and tolerance)
Not every patient needs to reach the maximum dose. Your pharmacist will work with you to find the lowest effective dose with the fewest side effects.

Common Side Effects

Nausea (most common, particularly during dose increases)
Diarrhoea or constipation
Reduced appetite (this is the therapeutic effect, but can be uncomfortable initially)
